History comes alive at The Bluebell Railway. Situated in the heart of the Sussex Weald, and suitable for families and enthusiasts alike, the railway offers something for everyone. Trains run every weekend and daily between April - October.
The Railway headquarters are at Sheffield Park Station and this is where the restaurant and shop are situated together with the engine sheds. The sheds are open to the public and are well worth a visit as you can get up really close to the engines and appreciate their size and power.
Horsted Keynes, 15 minutes along the line from Sheffield Park Station, is a country station sometimes described as 'Clapham Junction in the country'. There are 5 platforms, a buffet and the Carriage and Wagon Works where work is carried out on the Railway's fleet of historic carriages, many of which are unique.
At the end of the line (for the time being until the extension to East Grinstead is complete) is Kingscote a lovingly restored 1950's style station. There is a good sized picnic area and a tea/coffee kiosk that is manned at certain times of the year.
