Winston Churchill's Britain at War Experience gives the closest possible insight into civilian life in Britain during World War Two. Explore the everyday hardships of people in war-torn Britain, including evacuation, rationing, bomb disposal, air-raids and much more. Take a lift down to the London Underground and view film footage about those poignant years. 1939 - 1945 were the years that changed history, dramatically!
Visit the BBC Radio station. Look into the dressing room of war-time stars and take refuge in the darkness of the Anderson shelter with the bombers overhead. Children can try on gasmasks and uniforms and sit under the Morrison shelter. Finally take a walk through a London Street just after a bomb has dropped complete with full sound effects.
2 minutes from London Bridge underground station. Coach drop-off and pick-up point outside.
'I thought I was back in the war - it was unbelievable: all children should visit this nostalgic and moving experience to see what it was really like for the ordinary people during World War Two' - Dame Vera Lynn
