The garden, jointly owned by garden designer and author John Brookes MBE and Mr Michael Neve, is beautifully planted for all year interest with emphasis on shape, colour and texture and although four acres in size it is full of planting and design ideas that can be adapted to suit any size of garden.
Gravel is used extensively in the garden both to walk on and as a growing medium so that you walk through plantings rather than past them. Individual plantings are allowed to self-seed and ramble.
Our Plant Centre stocks an enormous range of plants some rare and unusual as well as sculptures and pieces to suit every type of garden, terracotta pots and planters. In 2009 we were voted 8th best garden centre in the country by The Independent Magazine.
The fully licensed, multi award winning Garden Café is open daily from 10am to 5pm all year round serving a selection of lunches, coffees, teas and a variety of delicious cakes. With seating either al fresco or inside in the beautiful covered terrace area. There are also exquisite gifts and greeting cards available in the Café gift shop and the Garden gift shop.
