If you really want to let the kids go wild, Lee Valley Park Farms in Waltham Abbey, Essex, provides a great day out with two fantastic farms to visit. Within this idyllic setting on the edge of River Lee Country Park, sits Hayes Hill Farm and Holyfield Hall Farm.
With so many different animals to meet from cuddly sheep, rare breed pigs and cows to llamas, reindeer and the loveable meerkat family, there’s never a dull moment.
Let off steam in the indoor and outdoor adventure play areas, ride the sit on combine harvesters, dig in the sandpit or jump for joy on the Giant Bouncing Pillow.
You can take a stroll (or a tractor and trailer ride at weekends and school holidays) to Holyfield Hall Farm, the working dairy farm. Here you can visit the milking barn and parlour and watch the calves being fed.
