The National Marine Aquarium was the first aquarium in the UK to be not only a leading visitor attraction but also a centre of excellence in education and research. It is Britain’s biggest and, we think, best aquarium.

Today you can encounter Sand Tiger and Nurse Sharks swimming with huge Eagle Rays, Tarpon and Barracuda in the enormous 11m deep Atlantic Ocean exhibit. You will find seahorses mixing with a wonderful array of weird creatures and you will discover some of the hidden wonders of our own Plymouth Sound. You will be captivated by the beauty of the Coral Reef and the graceful movements of our Ocean Drifters.

The vast size of the aquarium means there’s plenty of space for young ones to let of steam plus there’s a 4D cinema, Discovery Zone, soft play area, café and picnicking area to enjoy at your leisure.
