The MAD (Mechanical Art & Design) Museum showcases Kinetic Art and Automata.
Based on Henley Street in Stratford upon Avon, the museum is the only permanent exhibition of its kind in the UK and as such has attracted artists from all over the world who are interested in showcasing their work.
For the uninitiated, the museum is a mix of Heath Robinson and Scrapheap Challenge and a hotchpotch of futurist mechanisms with amazing creativity and ingenuity. The MAD Museum holds over 100 pieces; both large and small with two floors full of far-fetched designs and quirky contraptions. Perfect for little kids and big kids alike, this weird and wonderful museum has become one of the must-see attractions in this tourist town for a family day out with the kids.
Come and step into an eccentric world of moving art; The MAD Museum is a wonderful place to experience and interact with an extraordinary assortment of both modern and old fashioned, yet highly innovative, machines! It’s the perfect day out for the whole family, not only does it provide loads of interactive fun, it will interest those who are fascinated by physics, design and clever intricate moving contraptions.
