Wakehurst, known popularly as Kew Garden’s ‘country estate’, provides an inspiring destination, whether for a few hours or a full day’s entertainment. There is something of interest for everyone: professional horticulturists, enthusiastic gardeners and families enjoying a refreshing stroll amid the beauty of nature.
Every season brings a new experience, from the stunning bluebells on display in the woodlands in spring, though summer blooms, autumn colour and the specially designed Winter Garden that provides interest throughout December and January.
Wakehurst is also home to Kew's Millennium Seed Bank, the largest wild plant seed conservation project in the world.
Picnics are welcomed in the gardens or there is a wide choice of menus, using fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, available in the Seed Café and licensed Stables Restaurant. An exclusive selection of merchandise is guaranteed to tempt visitors in the gift shop and plant centre.
