Award-winning family-run woodland park in the hills of the East Sussex High Weald. Wilderness Wood is just the place for a day out for both adults and kids, with woodland walks and trails, picnic places, BBQ's to hire, play area, and refreshments with local food in timber barn tearoom, or tea garden.
Adults learn how a working woodland ticks, and children love exploring and building camps. Seasonal attractions include spring bluebell walks, “forest folklore” trail in June, autumn fungus hunts, chestnut celebration in October, and Christmas trees.
As part of your day out you can browse oak and chestnut garden furniture, rose arches, trellises, fencing from the workshop – sustainable and locally-made.
There’s wild camping at the woodland hut and lots of outdoor activities from fairy gardens and bug hunts to shelter-building, campfires and bushcraft. Very popular for birthday parties and school visits.
