Set in a beautiful 3,000 acre deer park, Woburn Abbey has been home to the Dukes of Bedford for over 300 years and is currently occupied by the 15th Duke and his family.
Stunning works of art, celebrated as one of the most impressive and important private collections in the world include paintings by Cuyp, Gainsborough, Reynolds and Van Dyck. See the iconic Armada Portrait of the Tudor Queen and the largest private collection of Venetian views painted by Canaletto in one room!
Take a walk around the extensive Abbey Gardens and enjoy the inspiration of Humphry Repton the famous landscape gardener and follow the Garden Trail to find out more about what you can see in the Gardens; including our recreation of parts of Repton’s original Pleasure Grounds. 2010 celebrates the 200th anniversary of the completion of Repton’s plans at Woburn Abbey and a season of special events will commemorate this occasion.
