Borde Hill Garden, Sculpture Trail in the Garden 'Unseen Forces': Wednesday 1st May to Monday 30th September 2013

Borde Hill Garden, in Mid Sussex is for the first time be showing fascinating works by David Watkinson. The intriguing Exhibition was opened by the Chairman of the Mid-Sussex District Council Councillor Mandy Thomas-Atkin on the 30th of April with guests and Friends of Borde Hill Garden attending.

'I am very proud and excited to be staging a sculpture exhibition ‘Unseen Forces’ at Borde Hill Garden, it is a wonderful opportunity to show my outdoor sculpture at its best' said David. ' I am greatly looking forward to unveiling new work at Borde Hill Garden 2013, in what is sure to be a very exciting and interesting exhibition in a beautiful setting.'

The Exhibition is based on the unseen forces of nature and the wonders of evolution. David takes his inspiration from the natural world, and in his sculpture he endeavours to point to the relationship between physics and the physical; seeds are flying, molecules are floating, rain is falling, the earth is spinning. His Kinetic Sculpture may be delicately balanced on precision bearings, where small air currents cause large forms to tip and move in reaction, carving a path through space before returning to a balanced position. The large organic forms are a more direct homage to Mother Nature and the simplicity and wonder of evolution.

This event is perfect for Summer and Bank Holidays.

Borde Hill Gardens (British Eventing Horse Trials): Sunday 26th May to Sunday 18th August 2013

A weekend of thrilling action at Borde Hill Gardens for horse enthusiasts from many parts of the country.

The affiliated Horse Trials are run in conjunction with British Eventing. The three phases: Dressage; Show Jumping and Cross-Country will take place in the Park with top international riders expected to compete.

The course was completely rebuilt in 2009 when the layout was changed to provide a better viewing arena for the Show Jumping.

The competition starts with BE90 Level on Sunday; BE100 runs on both days; culminating in the Novice BE Level, with jumps at 1.10 metre, on the Bank Holiday Monday. A great day’s entertainment.

The Scooter Rally and Ska Festival Weekender event will be on from the 14th to 16th June 2013 at the Santa Pod Raceway.

The Scooter Rally and Ska Festival Weekender event will be featuring Live Bands and DJs, Show and Shine, Run What Ya Brung, Ride Out, Club Camping, Jet Car, Fun Fair Rides & Amusements, 2 Seater Dragster Rides, Traders, Caterers and much more all on the one site at Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire.

The event of 2013 is for Mods, Scooterists, Skinheads, Casuals and Ska fans.

The Father’s Day event will be on Sunday 16 June 2013 at Penshurst Place.

From 12 noon - 4pm, join us at Penshurst Place & Gardens on Father's Day and step back into the Middle Ages.

The Hands on History team will be setting up at Penshurst Place, where visitors will be able to fire mini crossbows, join in with the tug of war competition and take part in medieval leather making workshops. There will also be our children’s craft activity workshops where you can play a game of Dad's Dominoes as part of Father’s Day in June.
