If you are wondering where to take your family this Easter for an interesting day out, the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovilton could be the answer.
In addition to seeing Europe’s largest collection of naval aircraft and Britain’s first Concorde, visitors will have the opportunity of enjoying a variety of family activities.
Every day there’ll be something different; from making model aeroplanes and trying to land them on a moving aircraft carrier deck, to making a parachute capable of lowering an egg from the Concorde to the ground below without it breaking the egg! And for the inquisitive, there are family trails which could earn you a cream egg if completed correctly.
On Easter Monday 9ththere will be a talk and static display by RNAS Yeovilton’s Bird Control unit which uses peregrine falcons to scare off birds which would otherwise cause a real danger to aircraft taking off and landing at the busy air station.
