Merry Wives of Windsor – Open Air Shakespeare at Dalegate Market

Dalegate Market, Main Road Burnham Deepdale, Norfolk, PE31 8FB

22nd August

The Pantaloons return for the second of their Summer shows, with their hilarious take of this Shakespeare tale. Comedy for all the family, a brilliant evening of comedy theatre.

Wives may be merry, and yet honest too!”

Sir John Falstaff, everyone’s favourite Shakespearean sleazeball, has fallen on hard times. In order to fix his finances he plans to seduce the wives of two wealthy merchants. But, wise to his wily ways, the ladies take the opportunity to punish Falstaff by playing a series of hilarious tricks on the nincompoop knight.

Expect silly slapstick, abundant anachronisms and memorable music nestled amongst Shakespeare’s poignant poetry as the critically-acclaimed Pantaloons put their own innovative and interactive spin on this classic comedy.

This will be an open air theatre show in the lovely surroundings of the Deepdale Orchard.

Please bring your own picnics, chairs & rugs (whether outdoor or indoor), and make an evening of this lovely outdoor theatre event. You can also enjoy food from Deepdale Cafe earlier in the day, Deepdale Stores will be open during most of the performance for extra snacks, or provisions before the show, and The Nest will be serving hot drinks & cakes until the show starts.
