Create your own adventure at Wimbleball Lake in Somerset.
Wimbleball Lake, nestled amongst the rolling hills of Exmoor, is a must-visit attraction during your stay in Somerset.
Your little adventurers will love exploring and discovering all of the fun things to do at this majestic lake. Ditch the iPads, immerse yourself in nature and create lasting memories with the family. Den building, rolling down hills, spotting birds from a hide and, of course, enjoying a well-deserved ice cream from the Duck Café are bound to be a huge hit.
Activity Centre and Campsite
Visit the Activity Centre and enjoy a family adventure like no other.
Explore the lake by kayak, learn how to stand up paddleboard, spot wildlife from a canoe, hit the bullseye in a game of archery, face your fears and attempt the high ropes course, learn how to turn in a sail boat or relax and enjoy a spot of fishing.
Why not extend your stay and sleep under canvas or glamp in one of our Pods or Belle Tents.
Get your children learning and having fun on their next adventure by downloading South West Lakes’ 101 things to do this summer booklet and activity sheets. Identify trees, track prints, discover different leaves or go on a bug hunt. Visit the children’s play area or enjoy the plentiful open space for informal games.
Walking and Cycling
Embrace the outdoors and experience Wimbleball by bike or foot. The network or footpaths and cycle tracks suit visitors of all ages and abilities. An all-terrain mobility scooter is available on site to enable more visitors to get out and explore with family and friends. Don’t forget to bring the dog! We want our four-legged friends to enjoy this special place. All we ask is for you to keep your dog on a lead and out of the water. There is an enclosed dog exercise area on site where you can let your four-legged friends off the lead for a good run.
Visit the Duck Café, set in unspoilt countryside overlooking Wimbleball Lake, and enjoy a taste of Exmoor with fresh, homemade, seasonal food, locally sourced from suppliers on the doorstep.
