The multi award wining Yorkshire Air Museum is the home of the Allied Air Forces Memorial of Europe.
Yorkshire Air Museum
We are located on the authentic, atmospheric site of former RAF Elvington, a World War II Bomber Command airfield used extensively by Allied aircrews during the war and now one of the largest independent aviation museums in the UK and a registered charity.
Extensive visitor reviews regard the museum as a ‘must see place’ in the region and great for families and have consistently secured us the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence award.
With 15 indoor exhibitions housed in original buildings, an impressive collection of over 60 historic aircraft and vehicles, covering aviation history from its pioneering roots here in Yorkshire to the present day; a hands-on family area; an ASTRA cinema; ‘NAAFI’ style restaurant and a gift shop, we are confident that a day out with us will leave you amazed! The museum is a Visit Britain VAQAS accredited attraction and once again voted the Going Places travel magazine ‘Top Attraction’ award.
Exciting events are held from Spring onwards throughout the year! See our website and social media channels for updated details of these so you don’t miss out.
