Spring Trail | Every day
Curtis is a very greedy Caterpillar. Join him this Spring on his quest for food as he visits all his woodland friends.
Follow our new self-led trail – venture into the woods, unravel the riddles and complete the activities. Welly boots advisable!
£1.50 per trail booklet.
Suitable for families (will appeal most to 3 – 8 year olds). Booking not required. Collect your pack from Cycle Hire.
Trail runs until Wednesday 17 April.
The creators of SURVIVAL are excited to bring you SURVIVAL: THE INITIATION, an introduction to obstacle course racing.
For many, the thought of entering an obstacle course race (aka: OCR) is an incredibly daunting prospect. SURVIVAL: THE INITIATION is a beginner-friendly introduction to obstacle course racing with the sole aim of helping you overcome OCR apprehension – and have lots of fun along the way!
Adult: £20 (aged 18 and over)
Child: £10 (aged 8 – 17)
Family: £55 (2 adults and 2 children)
Target Archery Taster | 7, 12 & 13 April
Have you ever fancied trying your hand at Archery? Our GB Archery qualified instructors will coach you through the best techniques to shoot with accuracy on our dedicated outdoor range. Precision, control and a steady hand are all you need for achieving the best results.
£8 for 45 minutes.
Sessions run at 9.30am, 10.30am, 11.30am, 2pm & 3pm
Suitable for ages 8 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Really Wild Wooders Forest School Holiday Club | 8, 9, 15 & 16 April
Our holiday club is guaranteed to be jam-packed with fun and woodland adventures. Days will be filled with learning how to use a whole range of different tools, lighting fires, campfire cooking, creating rustic crafts, building dens, climbing trees and making new friends.
£25 per day.
Additional siblings £20 each. Suitable for ages 4 – 11.
Cycle hire: £5 per hour | 8 & 15 April
If the kids are climbing the walls, bring them over to Betteshanger and enjoy discounted cycle hire. Get out and get muddy on the mountain bike trails or take a leisurely cycle on the tarmac track.

Punchy Potato Prints | 9 – 11 April
Mining posters and adverts are renowned for being colourful, bold and striking. Recruitment posters, banners and calendars are just some of the examples of mining inspired artwork created in Kent Coalfield communities and beyond.
Drop in to try your hand at creating some potato-printed Kent Coalfield-inspired artwork with the Kent Mining Museum team this Easter.
£2 per child.
Workshops are suitable for ages 3+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Battlezone Archery | 10 & 11 April
Combining elements from paintball, dodgeball, and archery, Battlezone Archery is a fast-paced team game where you shoot each other with specially designed arrows.
The objectives are to hit the targets off the opponent’s team, or to eliminate all players by hitting them. Like dodgeball, if you’re hit – you’re out, but if your team-mate catches an arrow, they can bring you back into the game.
£8 per person, per session.
Sessions run at 10am & 11.30am.
Sessions last for 1 hour. Suitable for ages 12 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Bird of Prey Experiences 13 & 14 April
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a falconer? Get an insight into the beautiful world of falconry with our special hands-on workshops facilitated by the experienced UK Owl and Raptor Display team. Enjoy spending time and flying different birds of prey in the beautiful countryside around Betteshanger.

Fossil Eggs | 16 – 18 April
The coal that drew miners to Kent started to form millions of years ago when the land was swampy and our climate was hot and steamy. Discover more about the fossils that can still be found at Betteshanger and create your own fossil egg with the Kent Mining Museum team to take home this Easter.
£3 per child.
Suitable for ages 4 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Fossil Hunting | 16 & 17 April
Thanks to our heritage as a former colliery, the Betteshanger site is perfect for fossil hunting. You’ll find plenty of fossils either lying on top of the spoil heap or by digging down into the spoil.
This Easter holiday we’re running a number of sessions run by local geologist Andy Temple, member of The Geologists Association, Kent Geologists Group and Geoconservation Kent.
£8 per person.
Sessions run at 10am, 11.15am, 12.30pm & 1.45pm.
Suitable for ages 6 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All tools, safety equipment and instruction are provided. You will be digging in the coal spoil so please be prepared to get dirty.
Family Forest Skills Day | 19 April
Bring the family together and join Really Wild Wooders for a special Forest Skills Day this Good Friday. We’ll be making a selection of Easter crafts to take home plus you’ll light a campfire, toast marshmallows, spend time building woodland dens and hunt for bugs.
First child: £10; Additional siblings: £8; Adult: £5
Price includes all activities and equipment, plus campfire snacks. It does not include lunch and we recommend you bring a packed lunch with you.
Easter Egg Hunt | 19 – 22 April
Bandit, the naughty bunny, has stolen all of Betteshanger’s Easter Eggs and locked them away. He’s running riot around the Park and causing havoc at every opportunity.
Follow our self-led Easter Egg Hunt around the Park, complete the activities (ages 5 and over) or collect the stamps (under 5’s) and unravel the secret password. If you crack the code, you’ll earn a chocolate reward.
£4 per person.
The Easter Egg Hunt is free-flow. You can arrive at any time between 10am and 3pm (last egg collection at 4pm). The trail is self-led and will take 40-60 minutes to complete. Please be prepared for a short wait at check-in during peak times.
