Summer on the Farm

Enjoy fun summer days down on the Farm with an array of summer activities that will delight the whole family from July 23 – August 24 2019. Learn about daily farming life with regular milking demos and see Farm machinery in action. Enjoy fabulous food demos and outdoor play that allow kids to engage with nature and animals….there's something for everyone!
Make the most of your visit to the Farm this summer and plan your day…here’s our full timetable of hands-on, daily activities, including storytelling, food and milking demos, sheep racing and of course don’t forget saying hello to the new chicks in the hatchery.
Daily Summer activities:
12.30pm – Meet the chicks in the hatchery
1pm – Storytelling
1.30pm – See the mill machines running
2pm – Food demos (Tuesdays – Ice cream making, Thursdays – Jam making and Sundays – Cheese making)
2.30pm – Meet the chicks in the hatchery
3pm – Milking demo
3.30pm – Sheep racing
Weekly highlights in August showcase three new events: Tractor Week (3rd – 9th Aug) learn all about tractors and their importance to the Farmer, grab a selfie with our brand-new John Deere tractor or lift your spirits on the famous big green Tractor Ted bouncy castle! Birds of Prey Week (10th – 16th Aug) get up close and personal to watch these majestic birds swooping in the sky with the falconry team. Family Forest Fun Week (17th – 23rd Aug) let your imaginations run wild with den building, woodland storytelling, navigation, and marshmallows over the campfire.
Food demonstrations in August
Ice cream making - Tuesdays (6th, 13th, 20th),
Jam making - Thursdays (8Th,15th, 22nd)
Cheese making - Sundays (4th, 11th, 18th)
Tractor Ted (3rd Aug) - brings the farm to life with big, bouncing fun. Hop into the famous big green bouncy castle, peddle a kid sized tractor or trailer inside the digger den, explore the activities trail and have your go at welly wanging.
Fun Dog Show (11th Aug) - ten novelty classes including Saddest Eyes, Waggiest Tail and Scruffiest Dog, even the most novice pups can take home a trophy or rosette. Also don’t miss the fun agility course (try it if you are fit enough!).
Traditional Country Weekend at the Farm (24th – 26th Aug) - returning for the 6th year as a summer favourite, this family Country Fair will be a weekend of nonstop fun for everyone. Be entertained at the arena by equestrian Wild West shows, birds of prey flying displays, terrier racing, magic, historical re-enactment on horseback and a 17th century steam engine. Watch demonstrations of rural skills while you enjoy traditional country arts, crafts, food and drink
