Kent & East Sussex Railway

Tenterden Town Station, Station Road, Tenterden, Kent, TN30 6HE

Escape the everyday on the Kent & East Sussex Railway.

Enjoy a unique view of the beautiful Wealden countryside from the comfort of a heritage steam or diesel train: a 10.5-mile journey from Tenterden to historic Bodiam Castle through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (ANOB) in the Rother Valley.

Before boarding, sample some delicious food in our Art Deco Tea Room, along with a hot or cold drinks, and pick up a munch bag for the kids. Or if you prebook you can receive on train-catering by some of our friendly volunteer staff.

There are up to five trains a day (April-October) plus special deals and amazing events, so there’s always something new to experience both on the trains and at the station: keep checking the website for the latest news and offers.

The Kent & East Sussex Railway is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and follows the wide unspoilt Rother Valley for much of the journey. Our small rural stations are typical of light-railways of the period, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to see or do! Almost all our staff are volunteers and we're always pleased to help you get the most from your visit.
