Peter Beales Roses & Garden Centre

London Road, Attleborough, NR17 1AY

View our magnificent gardens & visit our specialist rose and plant centre. Specialising in the preservation of old-fashioned roses, our gardens provide a chance to see unique, historic, rare and contemporary roses growing in unison with other complementary plants.

In the heart of the gardens you will find the ‘St Albans Walkway’. An impressive ironwork structure, that comprises of four arched walkways that join together at the centre of a magnificent six-metre gazebo. The specifically chosen cultivars planted along the walkway are now maturing and the display grows more magnificent each year.

A couple of years ago we concentrated on a very special section of the garden that was dedicated to Peter Beales. Our aim was to encapsulate Peter’s legacy. Many of the roses used within the planting schemes held a personal connection to him, ranging from cultivars from Peter’s species collection to rare and unique roses he sourced and saved from extinction. Over the past couple of years we have also spent considerable time extending our gardens to establish a wildlife area, planted with specially chosen rose and plant species designed to create the perfect habitat to attract insects and mammals. This wildlife haven has been created to inspire and educate visitors into the importance of wildlife and the benefits they bring to all gardens.

At Peter Beales our ambition is to offer a specialist rose and plant centre that sells the widest range of finest quality roses and other plants including shrubs and herbaceous stock. Nestled in the heart of the Peter Beales magnificent two acre display gardens, the plant centre has almost doubled in size over the last two years, with an ever-increasing range of plants.

Located in Attleborough, Norfolk stocking an extensive range of not only roses, but bedding plants, perennials, shrubs and climbing plants, including a wide range of Thorncroft Clematis. The garden centre also offers a great range of quality gifts and gardening essentials, such as compost, plant feed, pots, tools, seeds, bulbs and much more!

Within our gift shop, we offer a comprehensive range of everyday garden supplies and accessories, as well as everything you may need to be able to get the best out of your roses. Practical gifts for the gardener include carefully selected ranges of reliable hard-wearing professional tools and alternative disease control methods, as well as products to help care for garden birds and wildlife, including food, feeders and nest boxes. The rose and garden-lovers theme is also reflected in our range of quality gifts, from candles and glassware to educational toys and handmade gifts by local artisans.

During the months of April to October, we also provide horticultural societies, gardening clubs and like-minded groups the opportunity to book one of our Rosarians to take them on a fully guided tour of the gardens. We also hold many events within the gardens throughout the year ranging from specialist plant and craft fairs to cultivation courses and workshops. Our Annual Rose Festival is held in the rose gardens in June, just as the roses are reaching their peak. The weekend is not only dedicated to the versatility, but the romance of the rose and includes everything from tours and talks about the care and cultivation of roses, right through to rose-themed gifts and refreshments. Other highlights of the year include children’s fun days and Christmas events which allow visitors the opportunity to enjoy the gardens illuminated by a breath-taking display of festive lights.
