February Half Term – Dockyard Deckhands at The Historic Dockyard Chatham

The Historic Dockyard Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TZ

14th - 22nd February

This February half term, families are invited to The Historic Dockyard Chatham for Dockyard Deckhands – a hands-on adventure where children can step into the shoes of a real Dockyard worker.

Young visitors can become apprentice deckhands for the day, trying their hand at traditional maritime skills and discovering the historic trades that once brought the Dockyard to life. On arrival, each child collects an Apprentice Card before travelling between interactive skill stations around the site. Every station offers a new practical challenge, with a stamp awarded for each skill mastered.

All activities are inspired by the work of Dockyard workers, past and present. After completing enough skill stations, it’s time to graduate. Apprentices can visit the graduation desk to have their card checked and receive a pin badge to take home, celebrating their chosen trade.

A fun, educational February half term day out for curious children and their families.
