Middy in the 1940s at the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway

Brockford Station, Hall Lane, Wetheringsett, Stowmarket, IP14 5PW

26th May, 10:30am - 27th May, 4:30pm

Middy in the 1940s brings history alive and makes a great day out for families and enthusiasts alike - an exhibition of how it was in those extraordinary end of war days.

Including, of course, steam train rides in veteran Great Eastern Railway 4-wheel coaches. Both our resident steam locomotives will be in steam – Andrew Barclay no.1219 ‘Centurion Works’ and the 1906 Cockerill vertical boilered Belgian tram.

The celebration will include a wide range of re-enactors including displays of memorabilia and a long list of military and vintage vehicles plus on Sunday 25th May (weather permitting), there will be a flypast by one of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s famous aircraft. There will also be 1940s style live music on both days from Sarah Mai.
