The Great Ocean Egg-sploration at The Historic Dockyard Chatham

The Historic Dockyard Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TZ

28th March - 19th April

This Easter, families are invited to take part in The Great Ocean Egg-sploration at The Historic Dockyard Chatham.

A powerful current has swept through the Dockyard, scattering precious ocean eggs belonging to sea creatures featured in the Ocean Photographer of the Year exhibition. If they are not found in time, they could be lost before they hatch – and the race is on to save them.

Meet Horatio the Sea Hare
Horatio is the ocean’s answer to the Easter Bunny. Instead of hiding chocolate eggs, he lays long, curly ribbons of real ocean eggs and helps protect the nests of his underwater friends.

After the recent ocean commotion, eggs from Horatio’s sea creature friends have been carried far and wide – and he needs help to bring them home.

Easter Ocean Egg Trail
Visitors can follow a family-friendly trail around the Dockyard to search for the missing ocean eggs.

Each egg belongs to a different sea creature and reveals a fascinating fact about how that species protects its eggs in the wild.

Trail participants who find all the eggs and complete their sheet can return to the nesting ground to receive a chocolate prize.
